As a Vice President of Retail Financial Services & Investments, she advised individual consumers and small business customers how to accomplish financial goals and properly increase revenue through adequate strategic planning. Bahiyah’s educational path allows her the expertise she currently uses.  With a psychology and financial background, she noticed how society recklessly spends money and lacks self-reliance.  The outlandish spending derives from emotional spending and lack of holding oneself accountable, which she felt must be addressed. 

She is the author of two books: Stillwaters and Finances are Linked to Emotions.  She has written news articles about emotional spending, strategic planning for businesses, premarital financial consultations, and finances for children. She frequently presents seminars and workshops to groups, businesses, and organizations. Some of her seminar presentations include “Find your potential”, “Manage your investments”, "Budget your cash flow", "Planning for success” and “Embrace change & reach milestones”. 

Bahiyah Shabazz is CEO & Founder of Shabazz Management Group, LLC, a financial improvement and personal development firm focusing on improvement of strengths and goals, innovative leadership, self awareness strategies and financial growth from households to corporations. 

Bahiyah has appeared as a guest on the nation’s television and radio networks. She has also been featured in Black Enterprise.com, HER Magazine, Industry Buzz, Rolling Out, The Savvy Sistah and a variety of other media outlets. 

Her current project consists of educating consumers on financial empowerment. A native Indiana, she is an advocate for women and girls’ education.  

She is member of the Women in Personal Finance, NAACP, National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Women Entrepreneurs of America, Project WEE Savers of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc and holds a position as a Board of Director of the Rotary International Club.
